Why Families Choose Ajax
Not just a camp.
A whole other world.

Real Colorado Wilderness
Perched at 8,888 feet in the Frying Pan Valley — our 320-acre ranch has rivers, ponds, climbing walls, and mountain views that never get old. No parking lots. No pavement.

Small & Personal
~40 campers per session and a 1:3 staff-to-camper ratio mean every kid is seen, known, and cheered for — not just supervised. Counselors become lifelong mentors.

Choose Your Adventure
With 30+ activities, campers build their own days. Some go all-in on archery and survival skills. Others discover a love of theater. Both are perfect.

Our Story
Born from a love of camp
Ajax Adventure Camp started in 2010 as a day camp in Aspen — and quickly became the largest in the valley. By 2016, when a 320-acre ranch in the upper Frying Pan Valley became available, Sleepaway was born.
The mission has never changed: inspire awesomeness. We want every kid to let loose, find their passions, and laugh more than they thought possible.

“The thing that makes Ajax truly special is the freedom and choice it gives campers. Our child loved being able to pick her own activities, which helped her feel empowered and excited every day. She grew more confident, independent, and joyful over just two weeks.”

“Our son... had the best time at Ajax Sleepaway Camp this summer for his first ever overnight camp experience. The camp directors and counselors made this a fun, friendly, supportive, safe, and engaging experience and we are so grateful. In [his] words, 'I loved the cabins and the bunk beds, the waterfront, the zipline, archery, whittling sticks to use for s'mores each night, being outside so much, and making friends from all over the place. I would love to go back next summer.'”

“My kids have gone to Ajax for the past two summers. They both love the activities, animals, counselors, food and the other campers they’ve met at Ajax. The camp is located in an amazing setting a short distance from Aspen and as a parent, I knew the kids were having fun in this natural environment.”
